Dry Type Transformers

Transform Your Energy Use with the Safer, More Efficient  Alternative

Earn the increased incentives awarded to  multi-measured projects by including dry-type transformers in your commercial energy upgrades. While distribution transformers manage voltage levels, using oil-filled transformers in places like cities that have a dense population or less populated areas with delicate ecosystems can cause harm and damage through fire or pollution.

Dry-type transformers, on the other hand, use air to insulate and cool the core and coil. Without chemical coolant or oil, dry-type transformers require less maintenance and are quicker to install. Their solid-form components mean no potential flashpoints and no bushings required. While some national distributors provide the transformers themselves and not much else, Apollo takes care of the entire process, including planning, transport and installation.

If you have single-phase transformers that meet the previous standard (TP-1), upgrading to DOE 2016 efficiency units will save little or no energy. However, significant savings are possible when upgrading three-phase transformers, especially in buildings with many of them.

How will you know if your property or facility would benefit from the use of dry-type-transformers? Apollo’s energy audit experts can calculate your way to the most cost savings, taking into consideration the installation costs, utility rebates and long-term energy consumption.
